Summer ?

picture1.pngSince the last comp the weather has been atrocious and really prevented any flying of note. We have one postponed comp and this weekend there is another re-scheduled event. Time is tickingaway with less than 40 days to go before the start of the comp. This weekend is sywell and I am looking forward to it, the area is familiar to me and there is a lot of good visual clues to go from. Paul Dewhurst is setting the comp and this should guarantee a challenging set of tasks. Sywell is an ideal setting with excellent facilities and three runways so if it is windy there are plenty of opportunities for a safe landing. Flylightare the school there and offer a whole range of facilities. The plan will be a early morning flight up on Saturday morning- the forecastĀ is for southerlys so this will make it a little quicker.

With another rescheduled comp at the end of the month this promises to be a busy couple of weeks. With plenty to practice before the worlds themselves. Just booked the Ferry ! which proved expensive with the trailor - the plan will be to depart in convoy with the other single seater team mates and drive through Europe planning to get to the airfield on Sunday afternoon. This will then give a whole week to dial in to the local area and surroundings. Last year in Germany this proved invaluable and made a significant difference. The Czech organisors have just run a practice comp at the airfield and this looks like it went well.
