It was a pleasure to welcome Jim Pearce to our local club last week. Jim spoke to us about his Flight around South Africa. Jim’s adventure followed his successful flight around Australia. This proves the capability of the Microlight as an adventure tool, in fact two pilots have just set off to try and beat the record for a microlight flight from England to Australia. The thing that makes this flight even more incredible is that the Pilot Miles Hilton-Barber is partially sighted. Flying with the aid of revolutionary speech -output software and his co-pilot Storm Smith the pair are hoping to get to Sydney in 55 days.
