All over at Over
The first round of the British nationals took place at the weekend it sunny yet breezy conditions. It was an excellent weekend with me totalling almost 10 hours flying. Robbie Keene the competition organiser set some very challenging tasks which combined almost everything from the task catalogue. I was pleased with my performancein the largest task off the day I came sixth, in the precision tasks I took a bit of a beating in the breezy conditions and scored nothing. I came sixth in the fast slow precision and then blew it on the final task coming back under the fuel allowance - (by .5 kg) this lost me a significant score and therefore dropped me to a disappointing eighth overall. Although the final result was not there I learnt more and felt that I did significantly better than a year ago. My photo recognition was much improved and now I need to work on judging fuel and obviously my spots - this is something I am usually OK at but over the weekend it was just not working out! . The next round is in three weeks at Sywell so we’ll see what that brings.
