Please do check out the work of the ABCT who under the leadership of director general Kenneth Bannerman are fighting to save our airfields and their history. Their excellent website has many interesting features and there is even a chance to look at details of airfields with there ‘airfield finder’; for Oakley click here - if you look closely enough you can see the hanger! . Without the use of many of these former airfields many aviators would be really stuck for airfields or strips to fly from and the work of the ABCT is vital if sport aviation is to continue.
